Artist Bio

Mikel Donahue is an award-winning artist who works in colored pencil, watercolor, acrylic and oils. His stunning paintings of the American Cowboy lifestyle are immensely popular with collectors and critics alike. He has received numerous Best of Show and Juror’s Choice Awards and has been featured in American Cowboy, Western Horseman, and the American Quarter Horse Racing Journal. He is without doubt one of the very best Western artists of our age and a true gentleman of great character.

Mikel’s art is inspired by his personal history and heritage. Influenced by his grandfather’s cowboy way of life, his art is a totally honest depiction of the people and places of the great American West. His involvement with working ranches and the quarter horse industry gives him a unique perspective to his art. In addition to his highly successful career as a fine artist, Mikel and his wife, Christine, breed running quarter horses on their place outside Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Mikel and his art are living proof that the Spirit of America is alive and well.
