The Willie Nelson Collection- BARBAROSA (1980)
by Bill Wittliff

In 1975 Willie Nelson released his concept album, RED HEADED STRANGER. Featuring the No. 1 hit single, “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain,” the album became a multi-platinum blockbuster.

Following the success of the album, Bill Wittliff wrote a movie for Willie, BARBAROSA. In the summer of 1980 they made the picture in Lajitas, Texas. These are Bill’s original, silver gelatin prints of his photographs of Willie in costume. Each print is signed by both Bill and Willie (now 80 years old).

Each print is either 10x14 or 14x10. Conservation framed. Very rare—only a handful still exist. We have 5.
