Very fine, 100% wool Civil War officers coat made by the Warner Bros. costume department for Gary Cooper for his role as Major Lex Kearney in the 1952 movie "Springfield Rifle."

Gary Cooper (1901-1961) was one of the greatest stars in the history of American cinema. He starred in over 100 feature films and was nominated for the Academy Award 5 times, winning the Oscar for best actor twice (Sergeant York, 1942 and High Noon, 1952).

In 1961 he won his third Academy Award - A Lifetime Achievement Award.
